For this project, I was determined to create a place where the owner would never want to leave. A former rental in disrepair—pet stains, odors, and a rodent infestation (!)—we gutted this home to its exterior studs for a top-to-bottom renovation. With the original hearth and hand-distressed wood mantel, this Earth-friendly and energy efficient home embraces old-meets-new with nods to the past and modern touches.
